Gilbert & Associates focuses its practice in public and private sector employment law, representing employees and employers in claims of discrimination race, color, national origin, gender, religion, age, or disability—and related matters such as reasonable accommodation, disability retirement, family medical leave, workers' compensation, and whistleblower retaliation.

Representing both employees and employers gives Gary M. Gilbert & Associates a unique understanding of the perspectives of both, thus enabling us to better serve our diverse clientele. This is particularly important in employment disputes, which are legally challenging and emotionally charged. Although our practice is located in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, we represent federal employees and employers nationwide.  Likewise, we offer our mediation, arbitration, training and legal counseling services nationwide. Representation of private sector employees is generally limited to Maryland and Washington, DC.
